Habitat

  • Edge - wood margins, hedgerows, scrub.
  • Fields(a) - pastures, abandoned and fallow fields.
  • Fields(h) - hayfields.
  • Fields(m) - muddy fields (plowed, harvested).
  • Floodplain - bottomland forest, floodplain, swamp.
  • Gardens - gardens, orchards, farmyards.
  • Water - rivers, reservoirs, ponds, impoundments.

Abundance

  • Abundant - should be seen on most visits to habitat
  • Common - should be seen on many visits to habitat
  • Uncommon - present in low numbers / seldom seen
  • Rare - possible, but unlikely to be seen on any given visit.
  • Present - numbers may vary by species and season
  • Occasional - accidental, vagrant, irruptive, or sporadic.
