The Chrome Scraping Project
2006 - 2008


The scraping of an area in order to restore the serpentine vegetation is a long term project consisting of a number of stages.

1. Clear the area of trees and remove the wood from the area to be scraped. This was completed 11th November 2007.

2. Remove the root balls of the trees. This took place the 18th August 2008.

3. Scrap off the soil down to bare rock (when possible). This was completed 19th August 2008.

4. Remove the soil off the site. This took place the 28th August 2008.

5. Broadcast the seeds of serpentine plants. This step is optional if there are serpentine areas close by that could seed the areas.
