Agenda Items

Work Days Schedule

Henry will be gone  from right after Deloitte work day (June 7) until the Fourth of July.

Kent commits leading a mid-June workday (June 14 or 21) at Goat Hill.

AmeriCorps proposal

We thanked Bob for his leadership in the drafting of our proposal.   Waiting to hear back from AmeriCorps.    The challenge of responding to needs from Hurricane Sandy is delaying the processing of applications and lowers the likelihood that we’ll be chosen this year.    Nevertheless, we devoted most of the meeting to pinning down our workplan.

Henry is setting up meetings with landowners to discuss AmeriCorps schedule and scope of work for May 22 and possibly May 29.

Upper Chrome –
Finishing off the outside trail and putting up more markers
[Need to agree on and blaze route before August]
White for the inner trail
Yellow for the outer

Agreed that the outer trail should be unambiguously within the marked boundaries, avoid sections suffering the worst of the ATV damage.

Schedule a meeting (May 22?) to include Elk Township and Wilson King to agree on paths for our trails and the overlapping horse trails.

We will request additional/replacement TNC boundary signs with current phone numbers.

Lower Chrome
Bob will sketch out design for the cedar bridge

Chrome
Creation of brochure with trail maps.
Henry will provide copies of the Rose Trail brochure.
We’ll ask TNC GIS staff/intern to combine relevant layers into trail map.

New Texas –
Mike has a sense of what Americorps needs to do to open up the trails and clear serpentine sites.

Goat Hill –
Someone from Forestry should be there when Americorps works on the two camp sites
We will request a GPS unit from TNC to update trails map and serpentine sites

Nottingham County Park
Veterans Bridge to Wildfire zone
Drainage needs around exercise trail

Housing
            Scout camp has committed

We’ll have 10 or so walk road near Upper and pick up garbage (Anna hosting)
At planning meeting (May 22?) Henry will request that Elk put up “workers ahead” warning signs and pick up trash bags at end of day.
