Location: Lower Chrome Serpentine Barrens. Attendees: In
addition to Molly:George Gress, Tracy
Raymond, Bill Whittaker, Kent Wagner, Anna Hull, Chris Hull and Henry Whitesel
were present for this workday.
Accomplishments:
The
group met in the old field just past the gate at the Barren Road entrance to
Lower Chrome at 10:00 a.m.We continued
clearing the area between grassland #9 & #14 where we left off during the
11/15/15 workday. The brush mower, a
weed whacker and chainsaws were used to clear the area of greenbriar and small
trees.Others spent time walking through
the grassland area, clearing old brush piles off the
site. The large cedar and three small
oaks were left.More stumps will need to
be cut and a large pile of brush still needs to be hauled away. A workday will be scheduled for this winter,
most likely in January, depending on the weather, to complete this work.We left the site at 1:30 p.m. to begin the
Thanksgiving holiday.
