Nottingham County Park Activity Report
for 29th January 2012

In attendance: Henry Whitesel, Kent Wagner, Katie Gardner, Bob Barker, and Jay Gregg.

Accomplishments: We started at 0900 and finished about 1400. It was a great day, crispy and sunny. We drove to the
work area, entering the park off Ridge Road. Henry and Kent cut dead trees that were burned over by the fire 2 and 1/2 years past. Bob operated the brush whacker and carved paths through the green briar and berry bushes. Jay Gregg and another Park employee (Sorry I did not get his name) fed tree limbs and trunks into the chipper for disposal elsewhere. In this particular area, the briars seem to be competing very well with the Serpentine grasses. Just south of Firebreak #6 the Serpentine grasses are doing very well and that is the goal for the area we were cutting.

Again we had a new volunteer, Katie Gardner, Thanks to Katie for giving her time and energy to help preserve the Serpentine grasses in the park. We greatly appreciated her effort.

Issues: None. .
