Nottingham County Park Activity Report
for 18th May 2013

In attendance: Henry Whitesel, Bob Gray, Ruth Galantino, and Mary Westervelt

Accomplishments: We started at 0900 and finished at 1400. It was a beautiful day to be working outside with intermittent clouds and sunshine. We cleared green briar away from trees in an area between the Fitness Trail and Black Run that was previously cleared of green briar with a bush hog. This will be part of the corridor connecting the high use area of the park with Units K, J, and I.

Volunteers

A special thanks to Mary Westervelt, a new volunteer who gave up her personal time and came out to spend most of the day battling green briar. What an introduction to the Serpentine Barrens!!!  We encountered even more green briar today than on most habitat restoration days.

Issues: None. .
