Bridge Abutments on Chester Valley Trail (ex Chester Valley Railroad)
Description: I walked the Chester Valley Trail yesterday between Contention Lane to Devon Alley Forge Rd. First time I had ever been in there. I came upon an old pair of bridge abutments, behind at about where the McDonald’s on Swedesford Rd is. I took these two photos looking east at about 4 PM. The abutment on the right (the second, brighter photo) is more elaborate, with wider wing walls and appears to have an ornamental column on the east side, where even today, there is a stone-paved walkway up to it with signs of use. I didn’t go up there to explore. - Jim Brazel
