North Waterloo Road looking south towards Devon Station

image not foundDescription: Note on back; Mrs. Patten's place on the left. Lucy Sampson is said to have taken this photograph in the early 1900s. In the description it notes that Mrs. Patten's place is on the left. It also appears that we can see Station Avenue on the left (past the horse and carriage) where it joins North Waterloo Road. John Williams Patten and his wife Ellen Simmons Patten owned the Buttonwoods estate located in the triangle formed by Old Lancaster Road, Station Avenue, and North Waterloo Road. Mrs. Patten’s older sister was Miss Mary E. Simmons, proprietor of the Devon Inn from 1895 until she passed away in 1910. (MW 20201103)
