Finding Aid for the Tredyffrin and Easttown Township School System

This finding aid may be lsighly out of date as new items are added to the collection upon receipt.

This collection consists of printed matter such as graduation programs, yearbooks, diplomas, report cards, newsletters, special events programs, and artifacts. There are also copies of The Eastfrin, a student magazine. The townships of Tredyffrin and Easttown combined their high schools in 1908. The two school systems were consolidated in 1953. The T-E School District’s large collection of historic printed matter is currently in storage, and not catalogued. Both the TEHS and the Tredyffrin Public Library have a partial set of the yearbooks and a complete run of The Eastfrin. A complete run of the high school yearbooks is in the Conestoga High School Library.

In the TEHS Research Files, under Schools, there are many clippings, reports, flyers, and miscellaneous items. Material documenting the T-E School District, and after 1955, the Conestoga Senior High School, encompasses the following categories:

Printed Matter – graduation programs, programs for special events, and report cards

Publications – Newsletters, magazines, including The Eastfrin, and T-E School District Bulletin (6 issues, 1915-16), and other school publications.

Diplomas – stored flat in the oversize drawers (various years; stored oversize)

Yearbooks – T-E Junior High, T-E Senior High, and Conestoga High

Artifacts – felt jacket patches and letters, clothing, medals.

Class Reunions – programs, lists of attendees

BOXES: The Eastfrin

The Eastfrin, a small magazine produced by students at Tredyffrin-Easttown High School. Issues survive for the years 1922 to 1934. These magazines contain fiction, poems, enrollment statistics, reminiscences, sports news and scores, photographs of groups, humor, miscellaneous notes, and a good deal of advertising. Format, frequency, and numbering vary, and there are probably many missing issues. There are several duplicate copies. (2 boxes)
