Funds for the Lincoln Institute.

The friends of Indian education in this city were delighted yesterday by a dispatch from Washington, sent by Congressman H.B. Packer, announcing that the conference committee having under consideration the question of an appropriation for the Lincoln Institute, had decided upon a favorable report. Mrs. John Bellangee Cox, who was the recipient of this dispatch, stated last evening that the action of the conference committee made it possible for the institute to keep open for another year. The failure of Congress to make the appropriation would turn one hundred boys and as many girls adrift.
