Thomas David acquired a tract of 150 acres in 1709. Abel Rees purchased the property in 1769 and it stayed in the Rees family for over 100 years.

The Glass Tax returns list the following buildings: a Stone House 33’ x 18’, on 2 floors with 2 windows of 12 panes;, and 3 of 6 panes; a Stone Barn 37’ x 28’; and a Stone Shop 15’ x 13’. Additionally there was a Log Tenant House of 1 story 19’ x 17’ with 2 windows of 6 panes
