March 23, 1769 The Pennsylvania Gazette To be SOLD, by the subscriber, by way of vendue, on Saturday, the 15th of April, A VALUABLE PLANTATION, in the Great Valley, containing 134 acres, in Tredyffrin township, Chester county, about 18 miles from Philadelphia, on Lancaster road, and one from two grist mills, and two saw mills, is very handy to several places of worship; there is about one half cleared, the other half well timbered, about 7 acres of good watered meadow, and more might be made with little or no trouble, as it only wants to be plowed; there is water plenty for about 10 acres, and with little expence there might be a dam made to turn the water, which will water all winter; the fences in good repair; there is on the plantation a good stone house and kitchen, barn, stables, cow houses, and sheep houses; also a good spring, and a house over it; likewise a good bearing orchard, that bears every year, a good lime stone quarry, and a good kiln close to the quarry. The title is good, and the place may be entered on immediately. Any person inclining to purchase, before the day of sale, may apply to the subscriber on the premises, THOMAS CALVERT. N.B. Part of the place is fresh land, and a very good garden.
