Woodman states that McIntosh was quartered at Joseph Mann’s house. Mann is not in the tax records and the property was owned by Potts & Dewees at the time of the encampment. It is likely Mann worked at the forges.

The ruins are located near to the Horseshoe Trail and by the POSA Building (Patriotic Order of the Sons of America).

General McIntosh commanded a skeleton brigade of North Carolina regiments.
