Interior of Berwyn United Methodist Episcopal Church, December 30, 1888

image not foundDescription: In this image, the large, west-facing window in the rear, with the gas lighting fixtures hanging from the ceiling, faces Waterloo Avenue, with the chairs as seen here arranged to face Church Avenue. By 1956 the interior of the sanctuary had been reversed, and the seats faced the other way so that the large window was over the altar. After the church’s sale to Trinity Presbyterian in 1961, one of the Methodist Church’s lay leaders, Stafford Walker, who lived across Waterloo Avenue from the church, requested that Trinity allow them to take that large window with them when they moved into what was originally called the Cathedral Church on Waterloo Road. In 1967 Stafford received permission from Trinity to remove that window, and it is today imbedded in the wall of the “new” church. - Herb Fry and Roger Thorne
