Grand Entrance of the Devon Inn

image not foundDescription: The grand entrance of the Devon Inn was photographed by Lucy Sampson in 1905-6. What was simply called the “Boulevard” proceeded in a straight line from the Devon railroad station to the base of the main stairway into the lobby of the Inn. Miss Sampson had positioned her camera on the stone drive looking up at the north-facing grand entrance where guests would arrive by carriage for check-in, and a carriage of some kind rests on the left. - Herb Fry and Roger Thorne
