Duportail’s Quarters

image not foundDescription: From December 1777 to June 1778, a farm house owned by the Havard family in Tredyffrin Township was used as quarters for a French engineering officer named Louis Lebeque Duportail who served with the American Army as a Brigadier General. In 1904 photographer Lucy Sampson captured the home in very good shape with even the picket fence intact. The structure today is located in the Chesterbrook subdivision at the intersection of Chesterbrook Boulevard and Adams Drive. - Herb Fry and Roger Thorne
