Bridge Avenue showing Easttown High School, Berwyn - 1905

image not foundDescription: Lucy Sampson would have positioned her camera looking south at the intersection of Lancaster Pike and Bridge Avenue. The building in the middle of the image is the Easttown High School. In 2014 the land on which the school stood is occupied by an abandoned drug store and, to the south, by the Surrey Services complex. Further to the south of the school are residences that stand to this day. On the card dated December 23, 1905 is stated: “Miss Duttore, As far as I know there is no vacancy in Easttown School teaching staff.” Signed “Morris K. Lobb.” And on the bottom he adds: “Pardon the liberty I have taken.” - Herb Fry and Roger Thorne
