Old St. David’s Church at Radnor PA, 1904

image not foundDescription: This 1904 Sampson image shows the original Saint David’s Church built in 1715. Looking northwest from what is now South Valley Forge Road in Radnor Township, Montgomery County, the lane at the time of this photograph was called Church Road. This sanctuary, the first Anglican church in what was originally Chester County, and its “sister church” until the 1830s, St. Peter’s Church in the Great Valley (East Whiteland Township, Chester County) built in 1744, were almost identical in appearance and referred to as “two peas in a pod.” - Herb Fry and Roger Thorne
