Stirling’s Quarters

image not foundDescription: From December 1777 to June 1778, a farm house owned by the Rev. William Currie in Tredyffrin Township was used as quarters for William Alexander, Lord Sterling, a highly respected Major General with the American Army. In 1904 Lucy Sampson photographed the home located, then as now, on Yellow Springs Road one-half mile west of the Knox covered bridge over Valley Creek. - Herb Fry and Roger Thorne
