Jedediah Huntington Commanding 1st Regiment Conn. Infantry Liet. Col. Samuel Prentice 2nd Regiment Conn. Infantry Col. Chas. Webb 5th Regiment Conn. Infantry Col. Philip B. Bradley 7th Regiment Conn. Infantry Col.. Hemen Swift DESCRIPTION: Granite with bronze plaque, 6’ x 4’ x 2’. DONOR & DATE: The Valley Forge Park Commission under the jurisdiction of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, 1908. HISTORICAL DATA: Huntington appears to have been one of the more dedicated Generals during this period, but he was away from Valley Forge during April of 1778. General Huntington with his four and Varnum with two Connecticut Regiments plus the 1st and 2nd Rhode Island shared the responsibility of defending the Eastern flank of the camp along the Schuylkill River.
