DONOR & DATE: The Valley Forge Park Commission under the jurisdiction of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, 1908. HISTORICAL DATA: The accuracy of the inscription on this monument is under question: there is doubt that Colonel Thomas Hartley was in command of the 1st Brigade of the Pennsylvania Line.
