Trail Report – Gill’s Goof Haul Road

Usage: unknown, but the, in places, deeply entrenched trail suggests it being old, perhaps even having being used to transport charcoal to Pine Grove Furnace. (see photos)

Status: The section of the trail running up from Mountain Creek is steep, unvegitated and likely causes sedimentation to run into the creek when it is raining. The trail is deeply entrenched in places, but these are level sections and there does not seem to be substantial active erosion taking place.

There is an unarmored stream crossing (see photos).

GPS Readings: Ends: 40.017407N, 77.339748W and 40.024230N, 77.332785W

The trail is 1.1 miles long between the bridge over Mountain Creek and Michaux Road.
