Trail Report – Sunset Rocks (east) TrailReporter: Mike Bertram; Date: 7 October 2020 Usage: light traffic

The east trail runs from Michaux Road up to the Sunset Rocks ridge. There is no longer any unobstructed views from the ridge due to tree growth (see photos). From the east end of the ridge the trail then quickly descends to meet the Appalachian Trail near Tom’s Run. The trail descent is challenging, being very steep, eroded, and with a loose surface in places.
GPS Readings: Ends: 40.031603N, 77.336644W and 40.033738N, 77.356701W This trail is 1.2 miles long and runs between Michaux Road and the Appalachian Trail along the Sunset Rocks ridge. |
