License Petition for the Eagle Hotel

To the Honorable the Judge of the Court of General Quarter Sessions in and for the Count of Chester:

The Subscribers, inhabitants of the said County and parts adjacent, beg leave to Represent. That the facts set forth in the ? petition of Mr. Mifflin Lewis are true: that in consequence of the change of travel from the Philadelphia and Lancaster turnpike road to the Philadelphia and Columbia railway, a change in the location of public houses for the accommodation of the neighborhood and travllers has become necessary, and that the site selected and built on by Mr. Lewis is a very eligable one for an Inn of tavern: that in our opinion the public in fact demands that a public house should be kept at said point, for which purpose the large and convenient building erected by Mr. Lewisis, in every way, perfect. We take great pleasure in, also stating that Mr. Lewis from his character, habits and ?, is entriely calculated to keep a elegent, orderly and creditable tavern.

We therefore courtesly recommend, to your honour, to grant the prayer of the his petition.
