Copy of a proposition by Charles Thomas to the Norristown and Valley Railroad Company, 1835

 

[transcription] It is further agreed between the said Railroad Company and the said Charles Thomas ...
should make at the ? cost & ? of said Railroad Company a good Post & Rail fence, five rails high, along both sides of said Rail Road and keep the same in good and substantial repair for ever; and shall also make and maintain good and ? Cropings for the accommodation of said farm of the said Charles Thomas according to the Act incorporating the said Railroad Company.

It is also agreed that the quantity of land occupied by said Railroad Company shall be surveyed and ascertained and the sum of one hundred dollars per acre shall be paid by said Railroad Company to the said Charles Thomas before they, the said Railroad Company shall enter the said land by their contractors for the purpose of constructing the said Railroad.

It is also agreed that the expenses of surveys, making and recording of deeds shall be made by said Railroad Company.

In witness whereof the parties ? the 30th day of December 1835.
