Mary Walker Roberts diary: Deaths page 13Transcription p. 13 Walker death record – Mike Bertram Nov. 22, 2020 Green highlighting indicates place names; enterred = interred May 19, 1835 On the morning of the 19th of 5th mo 1835 – Departed this life just entering her 53 year – Prifcilla (Priscilla) wife of Joseph Walker of Tredyffrin township Chester County – after a tedious illness which she bore with unexampled fortitude – and may the soothing words which pafs (pass) her lips to old and young be remembered – and be as bread cast on the waters and found after many days – her remains were enterred in friends burial ground on the 21st attended by a large circle of friends and relations The 28th of 9th mo 1835 – Alban Matlack was buried at Haddonfield, New Jersey – his disease was Dysentary Susanna wife of John Umsted departed this life on 6 day evening aobut 11 oclock – and was buried the 29th of 11th mo 1835 first day at the Valley Presbyterian burying ground. Abel Thomas departed this life at Yellow Springs the 18th of 1st mo 1836 and buried at Kimberton the 21st On fourth day the 17th of 2nd mo 1836 Departed this life Martha wife of Jefse (Jesse) Roberts in Philadelphia Dr. Benjn (Benjamin) Green Departed this life the 5th of 4th mo 1837 in Phila Abijah Stephens was buried at the Valley the 12th of 4th mo 1837 Priscilla Rogers Departed this life the 5th of 5th mo 1837 and enterred in frs (Friends) burial ground Valley Thos (Thomas) Rowland Valley (? Or Wally?) was buried the 9th of 12th mo 1837 at fr (Friends) burying ground Great Valley Departed this life of Scarlet fever of Schuylkill, the 10th of 2nd mo 1837 Louisa Catharine infant daughter of John & Elizabeth Rapp aged 10 mo 11 day Died suddenly at Phoenixville Amy Starr aged 60 years, and enterred in the family burying ground adjoining her late residence – attended by a number of friends and neighbors Matlack Morris – son of Joseph & Eliza Morris – was buried at Radnor the 14th of 10th mo 1837 – aged 22 yrs 10 mo 2 days Died suddenly in the Valley – Devault Beaver in the 83rd year of his age on the evening of the 13th of 10th mo 1837 – his remains was enterred on the 15 at the Spread Eagle School House on first day afternoon Job Davis departed this life on second day evening the 23rd of 10th mo 1837 aged 48 yrs and 5 mo – enterred at Baptist burying ground Great Valley the 25th Oct. 23, 1837 |
