Mary Walker Roberts diary: Deaths page 2Transcription p. 2 Walker death record – Mike Bertram Nov. 17, 2020 July 11 (?), 1849 ___ ? 7th mo 1849 William Son of John and Harriet Taylor was buried this afternoon at Presbyterian burial ground – aged 21 years Died the 11th of 7th mo 1849 of inflammation of the Bowels my Dear Sister Ann wife of Samuel Richards – She was buried at a new grave yard near Trenton Ohio – aged about 71 years – ill about 3 days
Died on the 26th of 7 mo 1849 Cousin Esther Evans of Phila of Cholera
Died the 28 of 7th mo 1849 – of Paralysis (?) of about three days illness my Dear Sister Sarah wife of David Roberts of Lower Merion Montgomery County Aged 73 years 7 mo 13 days entered in the Old Merion buying ground On the 30th attended by her husband aged 84 years – and 7 daughters and their Husbands – 1 Daughter in law and several grandchildren and a large collection of relatives and neighbors who deeply feel their Lofs (Loss) – no doubt our Loss is her everlasting gain Died on the 31st of 7th mo 1849 – Sarah Youngest daughter of my Dear Brother Joseph Walker – She was a sufferer for about 18 months the most of the time confined to her bed – with a disease in her back which she bore with great patience – she was enterred in friends burying ground Valley on the 2nd of 8th mo Died of Cholera the 1 day 8th mo 1849 Dr. Joseph Griffith and was enterred at the Old Pikeland frds (Friends) burying ground the 12th in the afternoon much Lamented by all his numerous friends Wm (William) Son of Preston Ayres was buried at Salem Methodist burying ground on 5 day the 27th of June 1849 – aged about 6 years Elizabeth daughter of Lewis & Elisa Hungle was buried at Salem 10th mo 21st 1849 ___ son of Lamsl (?) & Catharine Rickstine was buried at Pikeland Church – 7th of 11th mo 1849 aged about 6 years – Disease was croup Robert Miller aged 84 years was buried at Minest burying ground Phoenixville on first day the 25 of 11th mo 1849 Mary Darlington, Daughter of John and Rachel Ann Jones was buried up the Valley on 4th day the 19th of 12th mo 1849 – aged 6 years, 1 mo, & 2 days – she died with croup – great suffering for 2 days 3 nights George Miller buried his child with croup the 26 of 12th mo 1849 Abel Lewis – an insane man for years was buried at Pikeland the 28 of 12 mo 1849 Dec. 28 1849 |
