Weeds in Valley Forge Dam

Visitors to Valley Forge this season express much regret that the water has all left the dam and its place is taken by a rank growth of noisome weeds. For generations the old dam was a spot of beauty, with its mountains arising on either side, and a roadway skirting the bank, but now the scene is changed and artists who formerly took pride in painting and sketching there have turned their attention to other points. In a freshet last spring the dam breast broke, and it has not been renewed.
