Lewis Roberts and his father, Israel, moved to the Charlestown area in the early 1800s from Richland. They had a common ancestor with the main Roberts family in the Charlestown of Thomas and Alice Roberts who migrated from Wales and settled in Richland in the early 1700s. Lewis Roberts: b. 1802. Will dated 9/3/1861, proved 10/9/1861, wife Harriet. 1860 census: wheelwright, Lewis Peart and Joseph Valentine were witnesses to will. | |

Roberts, Mary Roberts, Lewis Ellwood Roberts, Joseph Roberts, David Brooke Roberts, and William Penn Roberts. 1861 Lewis of Schuylkill township died, probate 10/19/1861: Harriet Roberts and Joseph Fussel, executors of the will of Lewis Roberts sold the tract of 8 acres, 23 perches to William Williams2. | |
