PUBLIC SALE.

12.06.1842 American Republican
Public Sale
In pursuance of an order of the Orphans'
Court of Chester County, will be sold at Public
Sale on Saturday, the 10th day of December,
1842, at the residence of Abram Philips, late
deceased, in the township of Tredyffrin, Great
Valley, Chester county, all the real estate of said
deceased.
No. 1. A Plantation and tract of 145 acres
of land, of which 25 acres are woodland, situate
in the township of Tredyffrin in the
Great Valley 1 1/2 miles from the Paoli ;
bounded by lands of John Bartholomew,
Robert T. Evans and others. The improvements
consist of a large 2 story stone house, 6 by
25, a large stone spring house, a large stone
barn, 61 by 40 feet, stone carriage house, hog
house and other out buildings. There is, also,
on the property a good tenant house, and a
good apple orchard and other fruit trees. This
farm is calculated either for an extensive grazing
or dairy business, it is in a high state of
cultivation, divided into convenient fields and is
well watered, convenient to mills, schools and
places of public worship.
No. 2 Is a plantation and tract of 93 acres
of land joining tract No. 1 - bounded by lands
of John Bartholomew, John G. Bull and others.
The improvements consist of a stone
dwelling house, stone spring house, a large
barn part stone and part frame, &c. This
property is in a high state of cultivation,
divided into convenient fields, is well watered
and fenced. This property and well
worthy the attention of a dairy man, as for
fertility of soil, it is not surpassed by any land
In the county.
No. 3 is a small tract containing 25 acres of
which nearly one-half is Woodland joining
Tract No. 1, bounded by lands of Robert T.
Evans, and John Thomas. The improvements
consist of a commodious stone dwelling house,
stone spring house, a large frame barn, &c.
This property is well worth the attention of a
professional man or a mechanic. Persons
wishing to view the above propertys, will be
shown them by calling on the administrator.
Sale to commence at 10 o'clock A.M. on
said day when the conditions of the sale will
be made known by
