SHERIFF'S SALE

09.12.1854 American Republican
Sheriff's Sale - By virtue of a writ of Venditioni
Exponas to me directed, will be sold at
Pebtic [sic] [Public] Sale, on Monday, the 9th day of October,
A.D., 1854, at 2 o'clock, P.M., on the premises,
all the right, title and interest of James Watson,
deceased, in a certain messuage, plantation and
tract of land situate about 14 miles west of Philadelphia,
on the old Lancaster turnpike and about
300 yards south of the Philadelphia and Columbia
Railroad, in the township of Tredyffrin, in the
county of Chester, bounded by lands of Jonathan
Moore, dec'd, Benjamin Kirk, William Rue, the
old Lancaster Road and others, containing 35 ACRES,
2 Roods and 27 Perches, more or less with
the appurtenances. The land is of good quality,
well improved and very productive. It is also
well watered and fenced, with a good proportion
of meadow and woodland for the same. There is
an Apple Orchard and fruit trees of different kinds
on the premises. The improvements consist of a
two Story Stone HOUSE, with kitchen
attached, piazza in front and finished
in the best manner, stone
spring house over a never failing spring near the
dwelling. Well of water at the door with a pump
therein, Frame Barn, frame stable, corn crib and
other out buildings all in good repair. Schools,
mills and places of public worship abound in the
immediate neighborhood. Seized and taken in
execution as the property of Sarah Watson, surviving
administrator of James Watson, dec'd, and to
be sold by L. HEFFELFINGER, Sheriff.
