Marriage of George Clemmans and Mabel Johnston

Clemmans-Johnston

Miss Mabel Johnston, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Johnston, of Main Avenue, Berwyn, and George W. Clemmans jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. George Clemmans, of Maple Avenue, Paoli, were united in marriage at 12 o’clock noon Monday at the Church of the Good Samaritan, Paoli.

Rev. Horace A. Walton, rector of the church, officiated, and the bride was given in marriage by her father.  Members of the families of the young couple and a few close friends were present at the wedding.  Mr. Miller, organist of the church, rendered appropriate selections during the ceremony.

The decorations of the church were most beautiful, and were in keeping with the Easter season.

They included lovely Easter lilies and many pink tulips that had graced the church on the previous day.

The bride, who was attended by her sister, Miss Marie Johnston, as maid of honor, was lovely in a gown of pink satin.  The dress was made on long lines with a jacket with a collar of “Queen Anne” style.  She wore a small hat with a face veil, and wore pink slippers and white gloves.  Her bouquet was of pink roses and tiny white orchids.

The maid of honor wore an attractive gown of pink taffeta, made with a ruffle at the neck and shoulders.  Her hat was pink to match the gown, and her bouquet was of pink snapdragons and tiny white orchids.

Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents, about thirty guest being present.  Bouquets of spring flowers added tot eh attractiveness of the home.

Mr. and Mrs. Clemmans left for a short trip.  They will reside in a cosy bungalow at Paoli Manor.  The couple received many lovely gifts.
