ReparationsBetween the 18th and 20th September 1777 the British Army under General Howe encamped in Tredyffrin on its way to Philadelphia. The army looted a number of the farms in the area. In 1782 a list of reparation claims was created in support of the peace negotiations and those for Charlestown are given below. A number of Quakers and Mennonites refused to make claims.
