The Rickabaugh family (genealogy) of Swiss ancestry first appeared in the records of Tredyffrin in 1767 when Adam Rickabaugh purchased a property on the west side of North Valley Road. Adam Rickabaugh died c. 1805 and the family estate was split between his descendants including Jacob Rickabaugh. The Rickabaughs were Mennonites and attended the Mennonite church on Yellow Springs Road. Relevant articles in the Tredyffrin Easttown Historical Society Quarterly on Jacob Rickabaugh can be accessed through the links at the bottom of this page.
