11/24/1843 Thomas Peart makes his will. Witnesses: Elijah Pennypacker and Charles Adamson

c. December 1843 Thomas Peart dies in Schuylkill township, his widow Elizabeth is appointed executor. Probate 1/13/18443.

1/20/1844 Mary Roberts diary: Elizabeth Pierts vendue, her brother-in-law Lewis Piert bought the place. Incorrect, Lewis was Elizabeth's son or step-son.

3/22/1844 Mary Roberts diary: New neighbors Lewis and Abana Piert.

4/1/1844 (date of deed) Elizabeth sells the farm to Lewis Peart for $5,628, which looks cheap, but I am unsure whether there is a mortgage involved. Nothing about a mortgage is mentioned in the deed4.

4/1/1848 Mary Roberts diary: Rachel Wilson and her niece Caroline spent the day here. They live now in Wilmington having bought Elizabeth Pierts house.

3/28/1850 Lewis and Abana Peart sell the farm for $11,500 to Richard Pennington and Robert Stockton5.
